Originally established in 1535, The Golden Lion began as a traditional coaching inn. Legend has it that Henry VIII’s saddle was once kept in the stables, as he was reportedly forbidden from riding. Inside, a separate staircase was reserved for second class citizens used only if the owners permitted them entry. Today, The Golden Lion offers a distinctive atmosphere and a spacious garden, making it the ideal spot to relax with friends and family over drinks, live music, sports, and more.
